Irony Games' Online Policy
A note from Ed: On-line policies seem to be rage in the gaming industry and being a huge gaming rescource on the web, we thought we should have one too! Honestly, though, I've gotten a couple of scary e-mail notes. One thanked me for making these things "public domain." Another told me of plans for loading up iG-maps on a CD-Rom; the writer even told me they'd send me a copy if I'd just send them money ... NoNoNoNoNo!!! I think most folks know what's going on here (and nothing has changed) but I thought I should spell things out a little bit more clearly:
"iGames" is also a trademark of Ed Taychert's Irony Games.
Inappropriate use of our trademarks makes us cranky.
However ...
Please feel free to use the small Irony Games' "iG-web" and
"Web-dice" symbols in conjuction with your links to Irony Games
web pages. (And thanks for the link!) ... but don't use any
other our images without our permission, please!
Even though you have permission to use our stuff in your adventure, this grant is not exclusive and does not tranfer any ownership or copyright privileges to you.
Note: Use of our stuff in conjuction with live roleplaying sessions or free play-by-email games is considered "personal" use. Use of our stuff on the web or in any other form of published work (we wish!) is considered "non-personal" use.
If you want to share our stuff with a friend or use it in an adventure you're distributing, that's great. We've worked hard on this stuff and are happy that it's being used. Thank you! If you want to provide our stuff to others, however, we must limit what we give you permission to do:
Under no circumstances may you distribute a collection of Irony Games' copyrighted materials. This policy expressly forbids the distribution of maps and texts when they are not used as an integral part of a game or adventure module also being distributed.
Even though you have permission to use our stuff in your adventures, this grant is not exclusive and does not tranfer any ownership or copyright privileges to you.
You may not:
Thanks for your understanding ... If you think we've turned into trolls, that's not our intention! Please feel free to drop us a note if anything is unclear.
